US-based singer Mary Millben has welcomed the newly announced India–US trade agreement, describing it as a powerful example of how humility can shape diplomacy and strengthen global partnerships.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Millben said the deal reflected a renewed spirit of reconciliation between Washington and New Delhi after weeks of uncertainty. She credited US President Donald Trump for adopting a conciliatory approach to reset ties with India, and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what she called consistent humility combined with strategic leadership.
Humility is the pathway to reconciliation, peace, and prosperity. Humility is the foundation of diplomacy. When the acknowledgement of wrong course shifts to a compass of value.

“Humility is the foundation of diplomacy,” Millben wrote, adding that the agreement signalled how acknowledging past missteps can lead to peace, prosperity and mutual benefit. She said President Trump’s willingness to restore relations with India and finalise a deal of value to both nations underscored the importance of humility in statecraft.
Millben also lauded Prime Minister Modi, saying his public and private conduct during months of diplomatic uncertainty had reinforced India’s standing on the global stage. According to her, Modi’s approach has positioned him as one of the most influential leaders in contemporary geopolitics.
Highlighting the moral dimension of international relations, Millben quoted from the Holy Bible to underline the significance of humility in fostering long-term cooperation. She expressed optimism about the future of India–US relations, saying she believed humility would pave the way for shared prosperity between the two democracies.
