Zia Farah Islam, who secured third rank in the state in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination, is not only brilliant in academics but also talented in various fields, such as crafting, cooking, and gardening. These tastes give her personality a creative flair.
Zia Farah Islam, a student of Little Flower Higher Secondary School in Dibrugarh, is a resident of Ratanpur in the Milan Nagar area. She is the only child of Sadequl Islam and Jasmine Begum. As both of them are teachers, Zia has grown up in an environment at home congenial for studies. Zia's success thus reflects her discipline and dedication.

A brilliant student, Zia always topped the class in her school. Besides studies, she pursues her hobbies of handicrafts, cooking and gardening. These are the things that make her different from the other students.

Jyotirmoy Das of Patacharkuchi Sankardev Shishu Niketan in western Assam was ranked first in the HSLC results, while Akansha Bhuyan of Ambikagiri Roy Chowdhury National School, Hawajan, bagged the second position. Surjit Akhtar of Little Flower School, Nalbari, secured fourth place.
A total of 4,29,249 students took the HSLC examination this year. The pass percentage was 65.62 per cent.
The Secondary Education Board of Assam announced the results of the HSLC Examination at 10.30 am on Friday. According to the results, 85,189 candidates secured first division (above 60 per cent marks), 150,167 got second division (45-60 per cent) and 46,345 passed in third division (30-45 per cent).

Dima Hasao district had the highest pass percentage of 88.23; the Cachar district had the lowest with 49.13. The pass percentage in Sivasagar was 84.08 and in Dibrugarh, 78.46.
