India's exports to China rise sharply showing 32% growth: Govt Data

India’s merchandise exports to China registered a sharp rise of 32.83 per cent during April–November 2025, reflecting stronger trade demand and improved export performance in the current financial year, according to data released by the Commerce Ministry.

Exports to China stood at USD 12.22 billion in April–November 2025, compared to USD 9.20 billion during the same period last year.

In FY26, exports to China began at USD 1.39 billion in April and increased to USD 1.62 billion in May. After a brief moderation during the mid-year months, shipments picked up momentum from September onward, rising from USD 1.46 billion in September to USD 1.63 billion in October and peaking at USD 2.20 billion in November.

In contrast, exports during FY25 remained relatively muted, starting at USD 1.25 billion in April, falling to USD 0.99 billion in August, and recovering modestly to USD 1.16 billion by November.

Meanwhile, India’s exports to the United States rose by over 21 per cent year-on-year to USD 6.92 billion in November, compared to USD 5.71 billion in the same month last year. However, exports to the US declined nearly 9 per cent year-on-year in October to USD 6.31 billion.

Commerce Ministry data also showed a significant improvement in India’s overall trade position. The merchandise trade deficit narrowed to USD 24.53 billion in November from USD 41.68 billion in October.

Total trade, including merchandise and services, recorded exports of USD 73.99 billion in November 2025, up from USD 64.05 billion a year earlier. Imports declined marginally to USD 80.63 billion from USD 81.11 billion.

As a result, the overall trade deficit narrowed sharply to USD 6.64 billion in November 2025, compared to USD 17.06 billion in November 2024.
