Central Board of Secondary Education on Thursday announced the schedule for the second board examinations for Class 10, which will be conducted from May 15 to May 21, 2026.
This is part of the new system introduced from 2026 under which students can appear for board exams twice a year.
Exam Schedule

May 15: Mathematics (Standard and Basic)

May 16: English (Communicative) / English (Language & Literature)

May 18: Science

May 19: Languages and elective subjects including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, foreign languages, Home Science and vocational subjects

May 20: Sanskrit, Painting, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence

May 21: Social Science
New Twice-a-Year System
According to CBSE:

The first exam, held in February, was mandatory.

The second exam, held in May, is optional.
-
It is meant for score improvement or for students who need to clear failed subjects.
-
Students can appear in up to three subjects in the second round.
-
The best score from the two attempts will be retained.
