In 2012, Malala was 15 when she was shot in the head by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) gunmen while she was on her way home from school in Mingora, Swat.
The attack was seen as retaliation for speaking up for women's rights after girls' schools in Swat were closed. TTP took responsibility for this attack. Luckily, she survived the attack and was taken to Birmingham, England for surgery.
Today, 24-year-old Malala shared on social media that she is still recovering from injuries she suffered nine years ago.
Malala is studying in the USA while her family lives in the UK.
