The trailer for Netflix’s Korean rom-com series ‘Boyfriend on Demand’, starring Blackpink’s Jisoo, has dropped, teasing a whimsical mix of virtual escapades and real-world romance.

Jisoo plays Mi-rae, a hardworking webtoon producer who feels trapped in her daily routine. To escape, she signs up for a subscription-based virtual dating simulation, where each date is crafted to match her ideal fantasy. The show’s title comes directly from this in-story service, offering tailored romantic scenarios that bring Mi-rae’s dreams to life.

Set against the backdrop of office life, the series highlights the tension between the perfect virtual world and the unpredictability of real-life connections. As Mi-rae navigates one imaginative date after another, she repeatedly crosses paths with Kyeong-nam (played by Seo In-guk), her officemate, leading to a slow-burn romance that challenges her ideas of the “perfect” partner.

Directed by Kim Jung-sik (known for Work Later, Drink Now and No Gain No Love) and written by Namgung Do-young, the series also features a lineup of virtual boyfriends, including Seo Kang-jun, Lee Soo-hyuk, Ong Seong-wu, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Hyun-wook, Jay Park, Kim Young-dae, and Lee Sang-yi, each adding a unique flair to Mi-rae’s simulated love life.

The series blends the humor of office life with the charm of romantic escapism, making it a story about discovering love in both fantasy and reality. ‘Boyfriend on Demand’ premieres on Netflix on March 6.
