Hollywood fans are in for a treat as the 98th Academy Awards gear up for Sunday night with several highly anticipated surprises. Host Conan O’Brien and the Oscars’ creative team have teased a star-studded lineup, including reunions from the hit comedy Bridesmaids and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, promising plenty of nostalgia and excitement.

During a press conference, O’Brien joined executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan to give a glimpse of what viewers can expect. Kapoor confirmed that the Bridesmaids reunion will be “very special,” while Mullan revealed that Marvel superstars and superheroes will also appear, adding that “another unusual moment” involving an extraterrestrial is planned.

The press event highlighted the team behind the spectacle, including music director Michael Bearden, production designer Misty Buckley, and supervising choreographer Mandy Moore. O’Brien, returning as Oscars host for the second time, emphasized that his role goes beyond comedy, serving as a bridge between the audience at home and the on-stage action.

Music will play a major role in this year’s show. Performances include the K-pop sensation “Golden” from Demon Hunters and a tribute to the film Sinners, showcasing its deep integration of music, choreography, and costume design. O’Brien humorously warned that his own participation in the Sinners segment, singing and dancing might not be universally welcomed.
