Tell Me Lies is set to take its final bow as the hit relationship drama concludes with its Season 3 finale, premiering Monday at 9 pm PT / 12 am ET on Hulu. The makers have confirmed that the series will not return for a fourth season, bringing the turbulent journey of Lucy and Stephen to a definitive end.
Creator Meaghan Oppenheimer shared the news just hours before the finale’s release, revealing that the decision to wrap the story after three seasons was always part of the original creative vision. In a social media post, she noted that the concluding episode was designed as the series finale from the outset, calling the experience of telling a complete story “rare” in television.
Led by Grace Van Patten and Jackson White, the show explored the magnetic yet deeply toxic bond between Lucy and Stephen, and how their choices rippled through their lives and friendships over the years.
The narrative unfolded across dual timelines, one rooted in 2008 at the fictional Baird College, and another set in 2015 amid the wedding celebrations of Bree and Evan, where former friends reconvened, forcing unresolved emotions back to the surface.
Oppenheimer acknowledged that the team briefly considered extending the story following the strong reception to Season 3. However, they ultimately chose to end the series at what she described as its “natural and intended conclusion,” staying true to the arc originally mapped out.
Ahead of the season’s launch last month, she had already hinted that the merging of the two timelines would align with her long-planned ending, a detail later echoed in coverage by The Hollywood Reporter.

The ensemble cast also featured Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Alicia Crowder, Gabriella Pession, Tom Ellis, Costa D’Angelo, Natalee Linez, Cat Missal and Branden Cook. Cast members had earlier praised the finale, with Van Patten describing it as an “amazing ending” in a prior interview.
With its final episode, Tell Me Lies now closes the chapter on one of streaming’s most talked-about modern relationship dramas.
