Andhra: Man stabbed to death after dispute over TV volume

A domestic argument over the television volume turned fatal in Andhra Pradesh after a young man was allegedly stabbed by his wife, police said on Friday.

According to the police, the incident occurred in Amaravati when Sheikh Ahmed (27) asked his wife, Kranthi (25), to lower the TV volume. The disagreement escalated, and Kranthi allegedly stabbed Ahmed on Thursday.

Mangalagiri sub-divisional police officer Murali Krishna said the couple had been married for about eight months. Ahmed was rushed to hospital following the attack but later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

After the incident, the victim’s mother approached the police and lodged a complaint, accusing her daughter-in-law of killing her son over the television volume issue.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case of murder and initiated steps to arrest the accused. Further investigation into the matter is underway, officials added.
