Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary on Saturday said the Samrat Choudhary government was working under the guidance of Nitish Kumar.
Addressing a press conference at the JD(U) headquarters in Patna, he said the opposition was trying to raise a false alarm that communalism was rife under the BJP-led NDA government in the state.
"Chief Minister Choudhary has time and again clarified that the present government is being run under the guidance of Nitish Kumar, and that there will be zero-tolerance towards communalism," he said.
"A fabricated perception has been created by opposition parties that the BJP ignites communalism. On the contrary, during their own rule in the state, they projected themselves as protectors of minorities while doing nothing for their upliftment," he claimed.
Choudhary, a JD(U) leader, said over the past two decades, the Nitish Kumar-led government worked for the education and financial upliftment of minorities.
"If all sections of society are educated, live peacefully, and fare well on financial parameters, why would anyone attack others, and where is the need for asserting protection for a particular community? Nitish Kumar's work led to communal harmony in Bihar, and Samrat Choudhary is committed to maintaining it in the future," he said.
Choudhary charged the opposition with patronising "tormentors" of minorities.
"People belonging to the minority communities have now understood who their well-wisher is and who exploits them on an emotional basis. The opposition's modus operandi will no longer work in the state," he said.
The deputy CM accused the opposition parties of raising a false alarm over issues like CAA, waqf amendment act and the SIR.

Choudhary also rejected RJD's allegation that the NDA has backtracked from its pre-poll promise "25 se 30, fir se Nitish (Nitish again, from 2025-30)".
"We remain true to our promise. The NDA government till 2030 will work on the policies of Nitish Kumar. The former CM has just blessed Samrat Choudhary to take forward his work," he said.
