Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday demolished an allegedly unauthorised commercial complex worth around Rs 1 crore in Anantnag district, saying the property was linked to a suspected drug trafficker.

According to police, the structure, located in Waghama area of Bijbehara, consisted of 15 shops and belonged to Sajad Ahmad Rather, described by officials as a known narcotics offender.

Police said a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has already been registered against Rather at Yaripora police station.
