Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit West Bengal on March 28 as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s intensified outreach ahead of the Assembly elections.
During the visit, Shah is expected to hold a major press conference and release a chargesheet targeting the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), detailing the BJP’s allegations against the state government.
According to party sources, the document will outline alleged corruption, administrative failures and law-and-order issues under the TMC regime. It is also expected to flag concerns related to recruitment irregularities, financial mismanagement and what the BJP describes as systemic governance lapses over the years.
Alongside the chargesheet, the party is likely to unveil a comprehensive White Paper reviewing what it calls 15 years of “misgovernance and corruption” under TMC rule. The report is expected to include data-backed analysis, case studies and sector-wise evaluations to substantiate the party’s claims.
The BJP is also preparing to sharpen its campaign narrative around alleged “mafia rule” in the state, particularly concerning illegal activities linked to coal, sand and stone extraction. Party leaders have said that strict action would be taken to curb such networks if the BJP comes to power.

Meanwhile, work on the party’s election manifesto is in its final stages. The document, expected to be released in early April—tentatively around April 5—will outline the BJP’s vision for governance in the state, with a focus on development, infrastructure, employment, law and order, and welfare initiatives.
