Polling for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections recorded an average voter turnout of 17.73 per cent by 11.30 am on Thursday, officials said.
Voting began at 7.30 am across the city amid heightened security and will continue until 5.30 pm.

According to a civic body spokesperson, polling is progressing smoothly in all 227 electoral wards of Mumbai.
