The first phase of Census 2027 will begin in Jharkhand on May 1 with a self-enumeration drive that will allow residents to submit household details online, officials said on Tuesday.
Prabhat Kumar said the digital exercise will continue until May 15. He described self-enumeration as an easy and convenient process through which individuals and families can provide information using an official portal.
He urged citizens to participate actively and share details related to their households, housing conditions and availability of basic amenities.
Following the online phase, housing listing and housing census field operations will begin on May 16 and continue until June 14. During this stage, enumerators will visit homes across the state to gather information directly.
