Tibetan spiritual leader the 14th Dalai Lama was formally presented with his Grammy Award at his residence in Dharamshala on Wednesday. The award was handed over by renowned sarod virtuoso Amjad Ali Khan during a special ceremony.
The Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, earned his first Grammy in the Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording category for his spoken-word album Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The award-winning project blends the Dalai Lama’s reflections and teachings with musical contributions from acclaimed artists, aiming to promote values such as peace, compassion and mindfulness among audiences worldwide.
The album features discourses on universal responsibility, inner peace and human compassion, accompanied by specially composed musical arrangements. Through the recording, the Tibetan spiritual leader seeks to share messages of harmony and understanding across cultures and communities.
