Delhi Police has deployed nearly 20,000 personnel, including traffic and paramilitary staff, across the city and border areas ahead of Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations, officials said on Tuesday.

Security has been strengthened at entry points from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, with additional pickets, barricades, and QRTs stationed at strategic locations. Special drives are underway to check illegal stays, drunken driving, and motorcycle stunts.

Key areas such as Connaught Place, Hauz Khas, India Gate, markets, malls, bus stands, and railway stations will see intensified checks. Vehicles without valid permits will be impounded, and SHOs are tasked with patrolling to maintain law and order.
