Light rain was recorded across several parts of Delhi on Wednesday, with the minimum temperature settling at 15.8 degrees Celsius—4.8 degrees above the seasonal average.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast a generally cloudy sky, with the possibility of brief spells of very light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places.
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for the city, indicating an early warning of potentially adverse weather conditions that could disrupt routine activities.
At Safdarjung Observatory, the city’s principal weather station, the minimum temperature was recorded at 15.8 degrees Celsius, the IMD said. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 27 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality stayed in the ‘poor’ category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 227 at 9 am, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

As per CPCB classification, an AQI between 0–50 is considered ‘good’, 51–100 ‘satisfactory’, 101–200 ‘moderate’, 201–300 ‘poor’, 301–400 ‘very poor’, and 401–500 ‘severe’.
