The Gurugram police have told Muslims that they are free to offer Friday namaz as there is no restriction in the cyber city and also security arrangements are in place. However, in the adjoining the Nuh district, the Police have asked people to not venture out and offer namaz at their homes given the curfew restrictions.

The police statement is a reaction to the confusion created by the advisory of the Jamiat Ulema that Muslims should not offer Friday prayers in mosques.

The police have asked the Ulema and common people to encourage each other to offer Friday prayers. They have also appealed to Hindus and Muslims to maintain peace and brotherhood.

“There is no restriction but everyone must ensure that communal harmony is not disturbed. We will also appeal to the people of the Hindu community not to indulge in any kind of activity that will vitiate the environment and instead maintain mutual brotherhood.”

It is being reported that many migrant workers have locked their homes in Gurugram and left for their native places because of the tension following two-day violence in Nuh that also spread to adjoining areas.

ACP Vivek Dahiya of Gurugram Police said some people might have left their homes voluntarily, but “we want to say that Gurugram is safe for everyone.”

“I would like to appeal to the public that they should be fearless. We will not allow any such untoward incident to happen. Police are keeping a strict vigil. We take responsibility for your safety.”

Gurugram Police said, “Gurugram is safe. You don't need to be afraid. We have issued 112 number. Call us if you need us. We will reach them in five minutes.

Nuh Deputy Commissioner Prashant Panwar and SP Varun Singla have appealed to the Ulemas to offer Friday prayers at their homes. He asked them to also others to do the same given the curfew imposed in the town.

He said that he expects  the Ulema offer the same level of cooperation as they did during the Covid- crisis

On Thursday, the Hun district adminitration held a meeting with the Ulema where the police sought cooperation of Muslim community in the following the ongoing curfew restrictions.

'In such a situation, people must cooperate with us and avoid overcrowding, " SP told the Ulema at the meeting.

The Ulema assured the administration that they would extend full cooperation to the district administration. Friday prayers will be offered at home only. He appealed to the common people to maintain peace and brotherhood.

The Deputy Commissioner said that people should not panic. "Live together in peace."

SP Varun Singla said action will be taken against the culprits and assured no innocent person will be subjected to harassment.

He appealed to the general public to cooperate in identifying the accused. He also said that the youth of the village should come forward to arrest the miscreants.
