Cricketer-turned-politician Harbhajan Singh, Misa Bharti, daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, and BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla on Monday took oath along with nearly 25 others as Rajya Sabha members.

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has been sent to the upper House by the Aam Aadmi Party.

Others who took oath include Congress leaders Randeep Surjewal, P Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal and Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut.

Renowned former athlete PT Usha and legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja will take their oaths later this week.

On the first day of the Monsoon Session the Rajya Sabha also paid homage to former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, ex-UAE president Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and former Kenayan president Mwai Kibaki.
