Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has expressed gratitude to fellow actor John Abraham for allowing her team to use the title “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata” for her forthcoming film without seeking any payment.

Speaking at the trailer launch of the movie on Tuesday, Kangana revealed that the project was initially titled “Nurses of Cama.” However, after learning more about the story, she felt a different title would better capture the essence of the film and the spirit of the nation.

According to Kangana, the film’s narrative goes beyond the experiences of nurses and reflects the courage and resilience displayed during one of India's most challenging moments. This prompted the makers to consider “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata” as a more fitting title.

During the process, the team discovered that the title had already been registered by John Abraham. Kangana said she personally contacted the actor to request permission to use it.

She noted that film titles are generally difficult to obtain once registered, but Abraham responded positively and transferred the title rights within a day. Kangana appreciated his gesture, highlighting that he did so without asking for any compensation.

Kangana and Abraham had previously worked together in the 2013 action-crime film Shootout at Wadala.

Directed and written by Manoj Tapadia, “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata” is set against the backdrop of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The film focuses on the bravery of hospital staff at Cama Hospital, including nurses, ward attendants, cleaners, security personnel, lift operators and administrative employees who continued performing their duties amid the unfolding crisis.

The cast features Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Amrutha Namdev, Esha Dey, Priya Berde, Asha Shelar, Suhita Thatte, Rasika Aghase, Aditya Mishra and Zahid Khan.

The film is backed by Pen Studios, Manikarnika Films and Paramhans Creations, in collaboration with Eunoia Films LLP and Floating Rocks Entertainment, and will be distributed by Pen Marudhar.
