The Nitish government has ordered all the shrines and places of worship to be closed till 30 April in view of the raging second wave of Coronavirus.

Following this order, the doors of mosques, Temples, Gurudwara, and churches are being closed all over the State. Due to these restrictions, the Muslims will not be able to say special prayers Taraweeh in mosques and shrines after the usual evening namaz during the Holy month.

Ramzan is starting on the 13 or 14 of April. During this month Muslims all over the world fast and say special prayers, Taraweeh.

In Patna, the biggest Taraweeh is usually organized at Anjuman Islamia Hall, Sabzibagh, by Bihar State Sunni Waqf. This is also attended by political leaders and other notables of the society. This year too Bihar's Minority Minister Zama Khan had declared that Taraweeh will be organized there.

In view of the government’s order of closing all places of worship, Sunni Waqf Board held an emergency meeting with Muslim notables of the community’s, Ulema, and religious organizations and decided that the Taraweeh stands canceled in view of the serious situation arising out of the second wave of COVID-19.
