At a time when attempts are being made to divide Hindus and Muslims in the name of religion, the mosques, the center of Friday prayers for Muslims are turning into people-friendly places offering multiple services to the public without discriminating ay anyone based on religion or caste.
 
The mosques of Hyderabad city are turning into centers of service offering the space for educational centers, and hospitals and more importantly promoting unity and harmony in the society.
 
Under the “Masjid Darshan” program organized by the management committee of the mosque and Idgah Gutla Begum Peeth, people of other faiths are encouraged to visit the mosque to know about the place of worship and Islamic practices.

Around 2,000 non-Muslims have availed of this opportunity to visit the mosque and interact with the management there. The program was attended by Corporator Madhapur Jagdeshwar Gaurav and Adviser on Minority Affairs to Telangana Government AK Khan.
 
Khatib Maulana Abdul Rehman, Imam Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Junaid Rashdi, Deputy Imam Maulana Ismail, Management Committee Officer Ahmed Nawaz Khan, Muhammad Riazuddin, and Abdul Naseer welcomed the visitors and also arranged breakfast for them.
 
Masjid committee officials said that through this program they wanted to promote love between followers of all religions and address misunderstandings related to Islam as a religion. The organizers addressed a lot of questions as regards their perceptions of Islami.
 
The organizers’ efforts are aimed at promoting the spirit of love, humanity, and self-sacrifice.

The non-Muslim brothers and sisters expressed their happiness and joy over such a program being organized in the mosque. Jagdeshwar Gaur said that such programs are important to understand each other's religion.
 
He said such programs should be organized at all religious places to understand each other and to promote Ganga-Jumani culture and communal harmony.
 
Most of the participants said that they had gone to the mosque for the first time. He expressed happiness over his visit to the mosque and expressed his desire to organize such events.
 
AK Khan, Advisor on Minority Affairs, Government of Telangana, said that the initiative of the officials of Masjid Alamgir is commendable. He said such programs are important.
