Bhubaneswar
Nitin Nabin will receive a high-profile welcome from the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Odisha unit, which plans a large electric-bike rally in Bhubaneswar during his first visit to the state as party president on May 18.
According to senior BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan, the rally will begin from Bhubaneswar airport and proceed to Jatani, where a party training camp for workers and leaders is scheduled.
Pradhan said the e-bike procession aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent call for fuel conservation and prudent spending amid global economic uncertainty.
The plan was reportedly cleared during a preparatory meeting at the BJP’s state headquarters on Tuesday.
Odisha BJP chief Manmohan Samal said Nabin’s visit is intended to energise party cadres ahead of upcoming political challenges.
Besides addressing party workers at the Jatani camp, Nabin is also expected to attend meetings of the BJP core committee and the state council of ministers in Bhubaneswar.
Mohan Charan Majhi, along with deputy chief ministers K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, are also expected to participate.
