Union Minister Nitin Gadkari celebrated his 69th birthday on Wednesday, receiving greetings from political leaders, party workers and supporters from across the country.

A large number of well-wishers gathered at Gadkari’s residence in Nagpur’s Wardha Road area carrying flowers, bouquets, garlands and photographs of the senior BJP leader, who is serving his third term as the Member of Parliament from the Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday wishes to his cabinet colleague through a post on X.

“Best wishes to my ministerial colleague Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji on his birthday. He is at the forefront of numerous efforts towards ensuring India gets next-generation infrastructure and enhanced connectivity. Praying for his long and healthy life,” Modi said.

Arvind Kejriwal, national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, also greeted Gadkari and wished him “excellent health and happiness.”

At home, Gadkari’s family performed the traditional Maharashtrian ritual of “aukshan”, in which an aarti is performed to pray for the person’s long life, well-being and protection from evil influences.

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways is widely associated with several major infrastructure and highway expansion projects across India.
