On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to ensuring dignity, accessibility, and opportunities for Divyang citizens. He lauded their contributions to national development and highlighted steps taken for their welfare.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “They have distinguished themselves across sectors, thanks to their creativity and determination, enriching our national progress significantly.” He also noted the government’s initiatives in accessible infrastructure, inclusive education, laws, and assistive technologies, pledging continued efforts for their empowerment.

Celebrated annually on December 3, the day promotes integration of persons with disabilities into society. The UN’s theme this year is “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress.”
