Vice President C P Radhakrishnan on Wednesday described President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament as comprehensive and forward-looking, saying it reflected India’s developmental achievements while presenting a confident vision for the years ahead.
He said the address effectively traced the country’s progress across sectors and laid down a clear roadmap aligned with the goal of building a developed India.
In a post on X, Radhakrishnan said the President’s speech spanned the entire spectrum of national development and underlined a strong focus on inclusive, people-oriented growth. He added that it echoed the collective national aspiration of creating a self-reliant and inclusive Viksit Bharat.
“The address reflected a commitment to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society while reinforcing the resolve to build a strong and confident nation,” the Vice President said.
The President traditionally addresses a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on the opening day of the first parliamentary session each year, marking the beginning of legislative business.
As per convention, when the President delivers the address in Hindi, the Vice President, who is also the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, reads portions of the speech in English, and vice versa.

In her address earlier in the day, President Murmu called upon parliamentarians to rise above political differences and remain united on key national priorities, including the resolve for Viksit Bharat, promotion of swadeshi, and safeguarding national security.
