The Holy Qur'an has been translated into different languages ​​in different times. In a country like India, most people do not understand Arabic, in which it is written. Muslims are taught Arabic or the Qur'an as children, but they do not understand or know its meaning.

Therefore, they hear what Allah says or advises in the Holy Qur'an only from the scholars. But as soon as the Holy Qur'an is available in their mother tongue, they can read it. People of other religions can also read it if available in their mother tongue.

"I was asked to do this great work by our guru, Sheikh-ul-Hadis of Hojai Jalalia Madrassa, Hazrat Maulana Samsuddin Shah. Accordingly, I decided to try and start the work of the Assamese audio version," said Maulana Nurul Amin Qasimi.

Maulana Nurul Amin Qasimi translated the Holy Quran into Assamese. A Saudi Imam and Qari Abdullah gave their voice for the Arabic audio, while Maulana Qasimi did the voice-over for the Assamese.

There was a unique example of harmony when Maulana Nurul Amin Qasimi worked on the audio translation. Its recording was done in a studio owned by a non-Muslim, Ankur Saikia. "We needed a studio to do the recording. When I told Ankur about it, he was very eager to let us do the work in his studio. That's how we completed our work," said Maulana Nurul Amin Qasimi.

This audio version is very convenient for those who do wish to understand the meaning of the Qur'an. Maulana Nurul Amin Qasimi said, "Reading the Quran from a religious perspective gives reward (merit). Those who do not know how to read the Qur'an, but if someone reads it and listens to it attentively, there is a reward awaiting them. The Qur'an is not only for Muslims; it’s a guide for every quom and religion.”

Can just anyone read and know the meaning of the Quran? To this, Maulana Qasimi said, “Everyone can read it and know the meaning of the Qur'an. The main thing is to try to understand the Holy Qur'an. But there is one thing, since the Qur'an is written in Arabic, how can one understand it?”

After the release of the audio version of the Holy Quran in Assamese, Maulana Nurul Amin Qasimi is now planning to publish the audio of the Tafsir (explanation or translation) of the Quran through YouTube. "Since we need some money for this work. We are seeking donations," said Maulana Nurul Amin Qasimi.
