Heavy rains lashed Mumbai on Tuesday morning leading to water logging and disruption of normal life in many parts of the city.
Train and bus services too have been badly affected by flooding in low-lying areas and railway tracks.
A landslide incident was reported from the Ghatkopar area. NO casualties were reported.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has asked state government officials to keep the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams on stand-by.
Due to the heavy showers, people were seen wading through knee-deep water in areas like Sion and Andheri.
The heavy rainfall over the weekend has also led to the swelling of many coastal Maharashtra rivers.
The Indian Meteorological Department has sounded a heavy rain alert in Mumbai and adjoining areas like Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Pune, Jalna and Latur till July 8.

The IMD has also predicted heavy showers in the national capital on Wednesday.
