Intermittent rainfall continued across several districts of Haryana and parts of Punjab on Thursday, keeping maximum temperatures significantly below normal across both states.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Narnaul in Haryana recorded the highest rainfall at 17.5 mm, followed by Yamunanagar (11 mm), Gurugram (5 mm), Palwal (2.5 mm), and Rohtak and Bhiwani with 2 mm each.
In neighbouring Punjab, Sangrur received 1.5 mm of rainfall, while Hoshiarpur recorded 1 mm.
The showers led to a noticeable drop in daytime temperatures.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius, while Hisar registered 32.3 degrees Celsius, up to six degrees below normal.
Karnal recorded a maximum of 30.3 degrees Celsius, around four degrees below normal, while Narnaul logged 31 degrees Celsius, about eight degrees below the seasonal average.
Maximum temperatures in Rohtak, Gurugram and Bhiwani settled at 32.8 degrees Celsius, 30 degrees Celsius and 32.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 33.1 degrees Celsius, 33.2 degrees Celsius and 32.4 degrees Celsius, respectively, up to three degrees below normal.

Bathinda and Faridkot recorded maximum temperatures of 34 degrees Celsius and 32.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
