Hyderabad
The Telangana government on Monday announced the setting up of a round-the-clock control room at Telangana Bhavan to assist people from the state living in the crisis-hit West Asia, as well as their families in India.
According to an official statement, senior officials are keeping a close watch on the evolving situation in the Gulf region and are coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs and concerned Indian embassies to assess developments on the ground.
The decision follows a surge in queries from Telangana residents based in affected countries, including reports of travel disruptions and concerns about those who may be stranded. Family members back home have also been reaching out for information and assistance.
The control room will operate 24×7 to provide coordination support and facilitate help wherever required. Telangana natives residing in the conflict zones, or their relatives in the state, have been advised to contact the helpdesk in case of emergencies, distress situations or travel-related issues.
