Ramadan in Mewat offers a unique feeling of peace and warmth. The simplicity and sincerity of life here are rarely found in the fast-paced urban lifestyle. This is why many people try to spend part of Ramadan in Mewat to relive that spiritual atmosphere.
These views were shared by young singer Salman Ali while recalling his ancestral homeland on the show Raunak-e-Ramzan, hosted by Sana Khan. His husband Mufti Syed Anas also appeared in the program. This is the second year of the special show, which was recently attended by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Salman Ali said his true identity is deeply connected to Mewat. Ramadan here is not only a month of worship but also a season that transforms the entire region into a spiritual atmosphere. Before Sehri, streets become lively, homes light up, mosques become active, and the sounds of one Azan blending into another create a feeling of collective remembrance of God.

Iftar time in Mewat presents a beautiful scene of unity. People spread dining sheets in mosques, and families contribute food items. Some bring drinks, others bring fruits and dishes. Everyone sits together to break their fast, with no distinction between rich and poor. This brotherhood defines Mewat’s identity.
Salman Ali highlighted the simplicity of Mewat’s people and their strong connection with faith. Quran recitation is heard more frequently during Ramadan. People of all ages gather in mosques, attend prayers in congregation, and show great enthusiasm for Taraweeh prayers.
He described Mewat not just as a geographical region but as a place of moral and spiritual upbringing where he learned values, ethics, and family traditions. He credited his success to this environment and his parents’ prayers.
