Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)
Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said Uttar Pradesh has entered a “new era” of law and order, asserting that fear, tension and riots are now things of the past.
Speaking at an event at Lok Bhavan to mark nine years of his government, he said improved security has enabled the peaceful celebration of festivals like Navratri and Ramzan, along with occasions such as Alvida namaz and Eid.
The chief minister released a book titled ‘Nav Nirman Ke 9 Varsh’, highlighting the government’s achievements, and attributed the changes in law and order to policy reforms and sustained administrative efforts.
Referring to the period before 2017, Adityanath alleged a lack of transparency in recruitment processes. He said over nine lakh government jobs have been provided in the last nine years, including more than 2.19 lakh in the police force.
Highlighting policing reforms, he said the state has strengthened its security framework through modernisation measures such as forensic science laboratories, a state forensic institute, and a special security force. He added that 34 Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) companies have been revived.
Adityanath also noted the formation of three women PAC battalions named after historical figures, calling it a step towards women’s empowerment.

He said the commissionerate system has been introduced in seven districts to improve urban policing, while cyber police stations and help desks have been set up across the state to tackle digital crimes.
The chief minister added that the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been strengthened and technology-driven surveillance expanded, asserting that these steps have boosted public trust and positioned Uttar Pradesh as a model for law and order.
