Living with PCOS can make weight management challenging, but many experts and individuals emphasise that sustainable lifestyle changes work better than restrictive diets or extreme fitness routines.
Content creator Tanya recently shared her personal transformation on Instagram, revealing that she lost 9 kg in two months, going from 75 kg to 66 kg. Along with her progress, she highlighted five habits she has now completely eliminated from her routine.
In her video, she admitted that skipping breakfast was one of her biggest mistakes during her initial weight-loss attempts. She said shifting to balanced, protein-rich meals helped her feel more energetic and supported better results.
She also moved away from excessive cardio workouts, noting that strength training and regular walking proved more effective for her than long, exhausting cardio sessions.
Another major mindset shift was around food. She explained that treating meals as the “enemy” made her journey harder, and instead focusing on adequate nutrition helped her manage PCOS more effectively.
She further pointed out the hidden impact of sugary drinks such as flavoured coffees and packaged juices, which can add unnecessary calories and affect insulin balance.
Finally, she stressed the importance of not normalising unhealthy habits long-term. For her, the goal was not just weight loss but also better health and improved management of PCOS-related risks.
