Ace all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin, could not board the flight to London along with rest of the Indian team after testing Covid-19 positive.

He is currently in quarantine.

35-year-old Ashwin will join the team after clearing all the required Covid protocols.

The Indian team is already in England for the rescheduled fifth test match of the five-match series which was abruptly halted last year after the fourth test following a Covid outbreak.

The match is slated to start from July 1 at Edgbaston.

India will also play a 4-day practice match against Leicester from July 24.
