India’s Sadia Tariq wins gold in Moscow Wushu event

On a day of fast-moving developments on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, a Kashmiri sportswoman nad brought cheers to India in Moscow. Sadia Tariq of Kashmir has won the gold medal in the ongoing Moscow Wushu Stars championship.

The ongoing championship is being held from February 22 to 28. Sadia is the two-time gold medalist in the Junior National Wushu championship.
 
She defeated a Russian girl in the championship which is the approved event in the Annual Calendar Training and Competition of the Sports Authority of India.
 
Nuzhat Gul, secretary of J&K Sports Council, posted a congratulaoty message on Twitter:
The Junior and Senior India teams are participating in the championship. Sadia is from Srinagar and has recently secured a Gold medal in the 20th Junior National Wushu Championship at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, in which J&K Wushu team gained the overall 3rd position in the Medal Tally.
 
President of the J&K Wushu Association Vijay Saraf along with office bearers congratulated her for the feat.
