Rohit Sharma named captain for T20, ODI series against England

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in the T20 and One Day International series against England which starts at the conclusion of the fifth test match at Edgbaston.

Sharma is currently recovering from a Covid infection and is not playing in the rescheduled test match.

India and England will lock horns with each other in three T20Is starting from July 7 onwards. Both the teams will play three ODIs starting from July 12.

The squad for the first T20 international has all the players who had played in the recently concluded series against Ireland. Rohit is the only addition to that side. The second and the third T20 will see the return of Bumrah, Kohli, Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant.

Hooda and Umran Malik have retained their places in the T20 team.

Meanwhile, Arshdeep who had a good IPL 2022 season has received his maiden ODI call-up.
