Skipper Suyash Prabhudessai struck a blistering unbeaten 51 off 28 balls as Goa defeated Jammu and Kashmir by seven wickets in a Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy Group B match here on Saturday.

Goa, chasing 162, rode on a solid 44-ball 59 from Kashyap Bakhale — laced with eight fours and a six — before Prabhudessai’s late assault sealed the win with an over to spare as they reached 167 for 3 in 19 overs.

Earlier, Goa restricted Jammu and Kashmir to 161 for 6, with Shubham Tari leading the attack with figures of 3/30. Deepak Gaonkar and Vikash Singh picked up a wicket each.

For J&K, Yawer Hasan (48) and skipper Shubham Khajuria (45) provided a strong platform, while Abdul Samad smashed 22 off nine balls to lift the total. Pacers Auqib Nabi and Sunil Kumar finished with identical figures of 1/31, but the bowling unit couldn’t prevent defeat.

In another Group B fixture at the Jadavpur University Ground, Hyderabad handed Bihar a crushing seven-wicket loss, chasing down a modest target with more than eight overs remaining.

Bihar struggled for momentum after teenage batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fell for 11. Piyush Singh (34) and Bipin Saurabh (31 not out) helped them finish at 132 for 8.

Hyderabad overhauled the target in 12.5 overs, powered by skipper Tanmay Agarwal’s unbeaten 67 off 42 balls, studded with 11 fours and a six. Tanay Thyagarajan (3/21) and Chama Milind (2/18) starred with the ball.
