Awaz-e-Khwateen, a non-government organization, based out of New Delhi, India, on Thursday distributed 100 suits and bags to school/college dropouts at a school run by Shikhar NGO on Okhla Road, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi.
It was a first such initiative by the NGO. Director Ratna Shukla Anand not only interacted with the students but also highlighted the importance of education. After listening to Mrs.Anand, many amongst them decided to acquire education again. In conversation with her, these girls even expressed their desire to join the army or become an IAS officer and serve the country.
Some even showcased their talent of singing, acting, dancing and much more. Many shared their stories as to how they are overcoming their challenges and are trying to continue their studies.
"Our initiative has motivated them and they will be associated with us in our upcoming programmes..", Mrs.Anand was quoted saying. "These girls have the talent to get enrolled in the Skill Development Program of Awaz-e-Khwateen on the basis of their merit..", she added.
