Muskan Khan, an undergraduate student of a Bengaluru college Karnataka, who walked with her head high as a large group of college students heckled her apparently for her wearing Burqa amidst the row on the ban on entry of burqa and hijab-wearing women in some colleges in the State on Tuesday has become a symbol of courage and woman power as people cutting across religions are appreciating her.

Jamiat-e-Ulema-i-hind has congratulated Muskan Khan, a student of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College, Udupi for standing up to bullies who were heckling her as she walked after parking her scooter for her bravery and announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for her.
 
Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, President, Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind, congratulated Muskan’s father Muhammad Hussain Khan for her daughter’s bravery.
 
Richa Anirudh, star anchor if popular Radio show Zingadi Live said:
Muskan is a student of B.Com of the Mahatama Gandhi memorial College Bengaluru. In the video of the burqa-clad woman walking amidst loud slogans of Jai Shri Ram by an all-men crowd, she shouted back “Allah-o-Akbar.”
 
Later Muskan told the media, “My teacher and principal helped me and saved me from the men.”
 
She did recognize some of the slogan-shouting men as her classmates while the rest were from the outside. She said she had gone to college to submit her assignment. But the mob did not allow him to enter because he was wearing a burqa.
 
Muskan, from Mandia district in Karnataka, was asked if he had seen the protesters before. In response, Muskan said that "ten percent will be from college while the rest were external elements." Muskan said that she will continue to fight for her right to wear the hijab.
 
Meanwhile, netizens came down heavily upon the Nobel Laureate for her raising the issue of hijab in India. irat Kumar, a student challenged Malala to speak against countries that have banned hijab.
Many people asked the Pakistan-born Malala to speak up against Norway that awarded her the Nobel and where all face-covering Islamic dress is banned.
