Syed Naseeruddin Chishti, President, All India Sufi Sajjadanasheen Parishad and Dewan of Dargah Ajmer Sharif, said  that the attack on Hindu families and minorities in Pakistan is highly "condemnable and unforgivable."

In a statement, he said that Pakistan that calls itself an Islamic country is seeing cowardly acts of violence in the name of religion and this is against the basic teachings of Islam and the Prophet.

Syed Nasir-ud-din Chishti's statement comes in the wake of the tragedy in Pakistan's Punjab province, where Ram Bhil, a Hindu scholar, went to a mosque with a Muslim friend and drank water,

The local landlords got angry and beat Ram Bhil and took him hostage.

Syed Naseer-ud-din Chishti said that he is "deeply saddened and upset by this un-Islamic act happening in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan."

He said that "the incident was ther handiwork of people with communal mindset and an attitude of humiliating the victims mindset. It was sought to be perpetrated in the name of Islam, though the truth is that they are actually enemies of Islam," he said.

He further said that violence against minorities is increasing in Pakistan and it seems that the government of Pakistan is giving shelter to those who do such shameful acts,

Syed Naseeruddin Chishti said that he has appealed to the United Nations to take cognizance of the violence against minorities in Pakistan.
