Imam gets Luxury car as Eid gift in Spain

New Delhi

Muslims in Lleida city of Spain surprised the Imam (head cleric) of their local mosque with the Eid gift - a luxury Audi-6 car. The regular worshipers of the mosque said the “gift is for his efforts during the month of Ramzan.”The Imam Osama Bounasab of the Al-Rahman mosque located in Tarka municipality was visibly happy to receive this gift, the local Spanish media reported.

Imam Osama expressed his gratitude for this gesture on his Facebook page. “Today was a great joy, as the blessed Tarka mosque group surprised me with an expensive, elegant, and blessed gift: a high-class car, praise be to God,” he said.

“My joy was heightened by the love of these generous believers and they’re encircling me with their supplications, the spaciousness of their chests, and the goodness of their hearts. I pray for their health and well-being, and may God make their sons and daughters righteous,” he wrote.

A local newspapers posted images of the Imam receiving the Audi on Twitter and said in Arabic:

“Worshipers in the municipality of Tarka in the Spanish city of Lleida presented an “Audi 6” car to the imam of the Al-Rahma Mosque, the preacher Osama Bounasab, on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr and for his efforts during the month of Ramadan.

Members of the “Maghreb community’ in Tarka, Spain, said the initiative to gift the mosque’s Imam came as a surprise to express gratitude to the preacher. Instead of collecting donations from worshipers in bags and handing them out to the Imams and reciters, the worshippers saw this as a novel way to show their appreciation for the Imam.
