New Delhi
In yet another peace overture towards India, Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa has said Pakistan is ready to improve the environment in the region by resolving “all our outstanding issues with our neighbours through dialogue.”
He was speaking at the National security Dialogue, a meeting of the thinktanks and security experts in Islamabad. He said that “unsettled disputes were dragging this region back to poverty and under development”.
He said “We have learnt from the past and are moving ahead.”
Seen in the light of what Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Tuesday in the same meeting, and also his earlier remarks on his country’s tense relations with India, Bajwa’s statement is sign of change of heart of Pakistan.
