This is a real life story of how a chance meeting between a food delivery boy and a customer blossomed into a beautiful relation and changed the life of a Hyderabadi family.

On Monday, while it was raining heavily in Hyderabad a Zomato delivery executive Mohammad Aqeel had knocked at the door of Robin Mukesh, a resident of King Koti.

Mukesh was surprised to get the food in time in such heavy rains. He also noticed the delivery boy had peddled all his way and was fully drenched; his bicycle was damaged and not in good condition.

“I had a long conversation with that young man, I was heartbroken and decided to do something for him at the same time,” he told the local media.

Aqeel, a resident of Talab Katta in Hyderabad became the sole breadwinner of his family after his father lost his job in a slipper factory due to Covid lockdown.

The 21-year-old Mohammad Aqeel is a third-year engineering student. He became a delivery boy in Zomato after his father lost his job. After joining Zomato, he started running his old Hero cycle on the roads. He cycles about 80 km daily, yet he just manages to earn about Rs 8,000 per month.

Mohammad Aqeel says, “I come from a poor family. I can't even think of buying a motorbike, so I travel around the city for at least 80 km every day, whether it's raining or sunny. With this, I manage to deliver about 20 orders.” He says it’s difficult for the family to survive with so little.

According to Aqeel, "My income depends on the orders I get."

Robin Mukesh says that “Hyderabadis are very kind people. I was moved to hear Aqeel's story and at the same time got involved in a campaign to raise money to get him a bike.”

Robin Mukesh is associated with the Facebook group 'The Great Hyderabad Food and Travel Club'. He posted Aqeel's story in the group. This group has more than 32,000 members.

Akil needed a basic TVS XL 100 cc. Mukesh says that in no time the campaign went viral on social media. In less than 24 hours, against the target of Rs 65,801 came Rs 73,370.

Robin Mukesh says, “The real essence of Hyderabad is humanity. We are always ready to help, especially in this difficult time. Mukesh says, “I am glad that I could help him instead of ignoring his plight and giving him advice.”

Aqeel now owns a motorcycle along with a helmet and raincoat. tears of joy rolled out of his eyes as he said he would be able to deliver at least 30 orders a day and make more money to support his family.
