State-owned energy giant GAIL India Limited has successfully launched Domestic Piped Natural Gas (DPNG) supply at two major residential societies in Bhubaneswar, marking a significant push toward the government’s vision of a gas-based economy under the National PNG Drive 2.0.

The first commissioning took place at Cosmopolis Residential Society, Khandagiri, serving 835 flats, in the presence of Kausik Das, General Manager-CGD and Officer-in-Charge, Bhubaneswar, along with senior GAIL officials and residents.

Member of Parliament Aparajita Sarangi formally inaugurated the supply, highlighting the safety, convenience, uninterrupted supply, and cost-efficiency of PNG connections. She also shared her personal experience as a PNG user, encouraging wider adoption among households.

Following this, DPNG connections were activated at Shreekhetra Residency Society, Aiginia, comprising 144 flats, with the MP reiterating the benefits of PNG and emphasizing its role in achieving India’s clean energy goals.

Both communities welcomed the initiative, recognizing GAIL’s efforts to strengthen city-wide PNG infrastructure.

The events concluded with a symbolic ignition ceremony, underscoring the successful rollout and reinforcing GAIL’s commitment to providing reliable and sustainable energy solutions.
