Silver prices rose 1.09 per cent to Rs 2.33 lakh per kg in the futures trade on Monday amid a firm global trend.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the white metal for September delivery increased by Rs 2,514, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 2,33,980 per kilogram in a business turnover of 1,496 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in silver prices, analysts said.

In the overseas market, silver futures increased 0.41 per cent to USD 63.81 per ounce.
