Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to visit Ayodhya to review preparations for the upcoming Deepotsav celebrations, as the temple town gears up for a grand celebration featuring millions of earthen lamps.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a post on X, said that Ayodhya's grand Deepotsav was giving fresh momentum not only to religious faith but also to the local economy.

“The grand Deepotsav of Shri Ayodhya Dham is infusing new energy not only into faith but also into the economy. Every lamp lit here is casting new light on the labor of a potter, the produce of a farmer, and the livelihood of a family,” CM Yogi said.

He further said that before 2017, no significant initiative had been taken to connect Ayodhya's cultural potential with the economic prosperity of local artisans, farmers and small traders.

“But before the year 2017, this light was absent. No initiative had been taken to connect the immense cultural potential of Ram Nagri with the prosperity of local artisans, farmers, and small traders. There was a complete absence of vision to transform the power of faith into new opportunities for livelihood,” he added.

Highlighting the role of the double-engine government, the Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the grand celebration, illuminated by millions of lamps, was creating new employment and business opportunities for potters, labourers and small traders.

“The double-engine government has dispelled this darkness. Under the illustrious guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the grand Deepotsav, illuminated by millions of lamps, is today creating new opportunities for work and business for potters, laborers, and small traders. The very diya that makes Ram Nagri sparkle also kindles hope for prosperity in the home of a hardworking family. Such is our Deepotsav...Jai Jai Shri Ram,” CM Yogi wrote on X.

The preparations are underway across Ayodhya ahead of the Deepotsav scheduled for November 7. Key locations, including Ram Ki Paidi and the banks of the Saryu River, are being cleaned, painted and decorated to give the city a festive appearance.

Speaking to ANI, local priest Siddharth Das expressed excitement over the preparations and said that this year's celebrations were expected to be particularly grand.

"Preparations are underway in full swing. The Chief Minister is coming to inspect the arrangements. As you can see, preparations for a grand event are taking place behind us. This time, we have heard that 31 lakh diyas will be lit, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also coming," he said.

He further described the happiness surrounding the celebrations, saying that the occasion brought immense joy to the people of Ayodhya.

Another priest, Acharya Prashant Pandey, said that the arrangements were being made to ensure a divine and memorable celebration.

He said that Ram Ki Paidi was being cleaned and painted, while sanitation work was also underway along the Saryu River. Roads, pathways and other public spaces were being cleaned, painted and decorated.

Describing the preparations, Pandey said the city was looking so beautiful that it appeared as though the atmosphere of the Treta Yuga had returned.
