Instagram has introduced a new update for users who frequently share photos and videos through carousel posts. The platform now allows users to rearrange the order of images and videos even after publishing, addressing a long-standing limitation.
With this update, users can simply go to their posted carousel, tap the three-dot menu, select “Edit,” and then long-press any image or video to drag and reorder it as desired. The change makes it easier to refine storytelling and improve post presentation without deleting and re-uploading content.
However, the feature is reportedly rolling out gradually, meaning it may not be available to all users immediately. Importantly, Instagram still does not allow users to add new photos or videos to an existing carousel once it has been posted.

Notably, in August 2024, Instagram also increased the carousel limit to 20 photos or videos, giving users more flexibility to share richer and more detailed content experiences.
