Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 lineup is expected to be more tightly integrated with the company’s next-generation Siri and on-device AI capabilities, according to industry reports. The upgrade could see all models, including the base variant, equipped with up to 12GB of RAM to support advanced AI processing.
As per reports citing analyst estimates, Apple may expand the 12GB RAM configuration across the entire iPhone 18 series, enabling more powerful AI foundation models to run directly on-device. This move is seen as key to widening adoption of the revamped Siri experience introduced at WWDC 2026.
However, conflicting reports suggest Apple could also be evaluating cost-cutting measures, potentially limiting hardware upgrades due to rising DRAM and NAND prices. This has led to speculation that some models might see adjusted specifications compared to earlier expectations.
The company recently showcased its new software ecosystem, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS “Golden Gate,” all built around expanded AI capabilities. While several AI features will be available across supported iPhones, the most advanced on-device functions are expected to require at least 12GB of RAM.

Apple has also begun rolling out early developer builds of iOS 27 for testing ahead of its public release.
