OnePlus appears to be gearing up for its next-generation Ace lineup, with early leaks hinting at major upgrades for the upcoming Ace 7 series. The smartphones are currently said to be in the engineering prototype stage, suggesting that development is still underway ahead of an official announcement.

According to a report by well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, two engineering samples under the Ace 7 sub-series are being tested with Snapdragon chipsets. One variant is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (SM8850), while another is said to feature a modified version of the same platform, carrying the model number SM8850Q.

The leaked information further suggests that both models may sport a 6.78-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution and an ultra-smooth 185Hz refresh rate. If accurate, this would mark a notable upgrade in display performance for the series.

Battery capacity could be another major highlight, with the Ace 7 lineup tipped to house a massive 9,000mAh battery. Fast charging support is expected to range between 100W and 120W, depending on the variant. The devices may also include an active cooling fan system, indicating a strong focus on gaming performance, along with a clean and minimal design language.

On the camera front, the Ace 7 Pro is tipped to feature a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens using Samsung’s JN5 sensor, offering up to 3.5x optical zoom. However, reports suggest that camera specifications are not yet final and could change before launch.

While OnePlus has not officially confirmed the Ace 7 series, the leaks align with earlier reports about the upcoming lineup, strengthening speculation that the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro are in development. As always, these details remain unofficial and should be treated with caution until the company makes a formal announcement.
