Villupuram
Udhayanidhi Stalin on Monday said the AIADMK-led NDA would push Tamil Nadu backwards if voted to power and urged people to support the DMK alliance to maintain the state’s development momentum.
Campaigning in Villupuram for party candidates Lakshmanan and Gowtham Dravidamani, he appealed to voters to reject the AIADMK, alleging that it had conspired to stop the monthly entitlement scheme for women heads of families.
He called on the electorate to demonstrate in the Assembly elections that the AIADMK and its ally, the BJP, have no political space in Tamil Nadu.
Udhayanidhi also said that if the DMK returned to power, it would immediately roll out the proposed Rs 8,000 coupon scheme for homemakers.
Referring to the previous election, he noted that the DMK had won four of the seven seats in the district and urged supporters to help the alliance secure all seven constituencies this time.
